Dr. Zenon Medina-Cetina

Dr. Zenon Medina-Cetina is an associate professor at Texas A&M University’s Zachry Department of Civil Engineering and holds a joint appointment in the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering, Department of Ocean Engineering, and the Department of Geography. In his research lab, the Stochastic Geomechanics Laboratory (SGL), they work to improve current practices on risk assessment and management related to natural and anthropogenic threats with social, economic and environmental impacts. Dr. Medina‚Äôs specific research interests include risk mapping for geospatial systems; risk, reliability and sensibility analysis; probabilistic site characterization for integrated studies; and uncertainty quantification of multi-physics geomechanical processes.

He holds a PH.D and M.Sc. in stochastic mechanics from John Hopkins University as well as a M. Eng. in soil mechanics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City.
