Configuring a City Engine License Server

CONFIGURING A CITY ENGINE LICENSE SERVER

You must configure a license server for City Engine in order to open and run City Engine. You will do this by running the “City Engine Administrator” program on your computer and pointing your copy of City Engine to point at the license server provided by TAMU GeoSAT.

This license server is only provided for TAMU students, and will require your computer to be on the the TAMU network to work. If you are on-campus, you are already on the TAMU network. If you are working from off-campus, you will need to VPN into the TAMU network.

DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL CITY ENGINE

1. Complete the steps from the Installing City Engine FAQ page

CONNECT TO THE TAMU NETWORK

1. If you are not on-campus or using an on-campus computer, follow the steps in the VPN Setup FAQ to get connected to the TAMU network.

1. Launch the “City Engine Administrator” program on your computer

2. Click the “CityEngine Concurrent Use” radio box

3. Click the “Define a License Manager now:” radio box,

4. Enter the following server name in the text box:

arc-license.geoservices.tamu.edu

5. Click OK

CONFIGURE CITY ENGINE ENTERPRISE LOGIN

1. Complete the steps to Create a TAMU ArcGIS Online Account.

2. Once you start up City Engine, you should select the “Enterprise Login” option and enter tamu in the text box.

3. Once the City Engine program loads, you should click the “Sign In” link to sign in one more time.
